Paddington Basin, a collaboration with Perkins+Will, is a highly sculptural landscape as a focus and unifying element of this large scale mixed use development. Taking in the context of the adjacent canal, the landscape is a metaphor for water. A 'lily pond' made of green and black stone will be irrigated by fountains which can be turned off to allow a planned programme of events. To the edge of the lily pond, free form, 'fluvial' stone benches will act as 'chaises longues'. (Currently under construction)
